Konrad
(Conrad)
(d. ca. 876)
Founder of the Burgundian Welfs
Konrad was the grandson of Count Welf (d. ca. 825) of Schussen and the son of count Konrad (d. 863) of Schussengau. In 888 Konrad's son, Rudolf (d. 911 or 912), became the first king of Upper Burgundy. The kingdom of Upper Burgundy remained with the descendents of Rudolf until the Burgundian line of Welfs died out in 1032 with Rudolf III (d. 1032).
